Top 5 resources for Decemberby BSCNC Communications
Every month, we spotlight five free and helpful resources for you as you seek to walk closely with the Lord and make disciples. Many of these resources are created by the staff of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSCNC) to help meet the ministry needs of pastors and lay leaders across the state.
This month’s resources include a focus on missions with aids to pray for missionaries throughout the New Year as well as resources for the upcoming Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. In addition, a number of videos and other resources from last month’s Annual Meeting and Pastors’ Conference are available, as well.
In addition to the resources featured here, many more can be found at ncbaptist.org/resources. You may also follow @ncbaptist on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, where we'll share other helpful resources throughout the month.
Pray for missionaries throughout the New Year by using the free “52 Sundays” resource. “52 Sundays” is designed to help churches pray for and learn about missionaries who are serving around the world, across North America and in North Carolina. The resource includes PowerPoint slides, ready-to-print bulletin inserts, prayer prompts and devotionals. “52 Sundays” can be adapted and used by churches during their weekly worship services or by Sunday School classes, home groups prayer teams or individuals. Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Resources
Starting in 1888, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO) was established to empower the international missions efforts for Southern Baptists. Your giving enables missionaries to be sent and make disciples and multiply churches among unreached peoples and places for the glory of God. The national goal this year is $160 million. The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention has developed a number of resources to assist you and your church in promotion of this year’s offering. Resources include a leader guide, promotional videos and prayer prompts for the eight-day week of prayer for the offering, scheduled for Dec. 3-10. Learn more at imb.org/lmco.

Prayer Service Resources
N.C. Baptists experienced a powerful service during the “Broken Before the Throne” prayer gathering as part of this year’s Annual Meeting. The prayer service was designed so that it could be replicated in churches or associational gatherings. To assist those interested in planning a similar prayer service, Kenny Lamm, senior consultant for worship and music, has compiled a host of resources related to the service. Resources include the order of worship, prayer prompts, PowerPoint slides, videos and more. You may access the resources on the Renewing Worship blog, or by visiting klamm.us/prayer. A complete video of the prayer service is also available online.
