Join in NCMO week of prayer
Thursday, August 23, 2018
The month of September marks the primary emphasis for the North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO). Please join in a special prayer emphasis for NCMO and ministries it supports in the week leading up and into September.
The goal of this year’s offering is $2.1 million, and this year’s offering theme is “Open Hands” based on Psalm 145:16. Pray that we be reminded that we serve a God who has an open hand to us, and in response, we open ours to others.
Following are some suggested daily prayer points for individuals and churches. These prayer points are also available online at ncmissionsoffering.org/pray.
Sunday, Aug. 26: Baptists on Mission/N.C. Baptist Men
Pray for the leadership of Baptists on Mission, also known as N.C. Baptist Men, and the 18 different ministries they support. Ask God to use these ministries and everyone involved in them to take the gospel to people in need and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Monday, Aug. 27: Church Planting Pastors
Pray for church planters, and ask the Father to draw many people to Jesus through new churches across our state.
Tuesday, Aug. 28: Disaster Relief
Thank the Lord for the work of disaster relief volunteers, and pray for them as they show and share Jesus’ love with people in need.
Wednesday, Aug. 29: Mission Camps
Pray for the directors of the mission camps in Red Springs and Shelby as they lead volunteers to share the good news of Jesus by serving with local residents of these communities.
Thursday, Aug. 30: Church Planting Consultants
Pray for church planting consultants with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina who help recruit, train and encourage church planters across our state.
Friday, Aug. 31: Baptist Associations

Saturday, Sept. 1: Medical/Dental/Health Ministry
Thank God for the medical professionals, pastors and counselors who volunteer their time to bring physical and spiritual help to hurting people. Pray that patients will meet Jesus, who is the One who can heal their souls.

Pray for new churches to be started and grow strong to reach the increasingly diverse population of North Carolina.
