All believers are missionaries

Why must all believers think of themselves as missionaries?
I was in a village about a month ago. And when I was in this village, I had come across a family that had never heard the gospel. And as I shared the gospel with this family, and I came to a close and gave them the opportunity to respond to the gospel, they responded with “Yes,” profession of faith in Christ.
But as I was getting ready to leave, they stopped me for a moment and asked me a question - this question that I still think about today. And the question was, “if this truth that you shared with us is true, and we believe that it is true, why has no one come to us sooner to share this truth with us?”
So, as I heard that from them, it broke my heart. As I’ve come back to America, it continues to break my heart because there are still people around us, everywhere that we go, that have not heard the gospel. Or if they have heard the name of Jesus, they don’t really know the true gospel.
And so God has placed each of us, wherever it is that we are in the world — if it’s in India, if it’s in China, or if it’s right here in North Carolina — He’s placed us in the place that He’s placed us for one purpose, and that’s to make His name great, to bring Him the glory that He deserves.
So, it’s our responsibility, as followers of Jesus, to go and share the gospel, to make His name known. It is not just the responsibility of us who go and live overseas, but it is for all people.
