Motorcycle Charity Ride for
Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina
May 9 - 12, 2018

Interested in getting your knees in the breeze for a great cause?

Join us for the third annual Ride to Clyde motorcycle charity ride for the Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina (BCH), beginning Wednesday evening, May 9 through Saturday morning, May 12. 

The route will begin on Oak Island at the N.C. Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell and end at the Broyhill Children’s Home campus in Clyde. Riders will enjoy two-and-a-half days of riding beginning at the coast and ending in the mountains. The route will take riders along North Carolina’s scenic backroads with stops to interact with children in three unique BCH ministries.

Rates
All full Ride to Clyde registration fees include the following:  

  • Three nights lodging (Caswell, Caraway and Lake Junaluska)
  • Thursday breakfast, lunch and supper
  • Friday breakfast and supper
  • Saturday breakfast

The registration fee for Single Riders is $120 per bike.

The registration fee for Husband/Wife or Parent/Child riding the same bike and sharing a room is $150.

The registration fee for Husband/Wife or Parent/Child riding separate bikes and sharing a room is $75 each and each person completes a separate registration.

Riders are responsible for all meals not listed above, fuel and any other incidentals they might incur.

All participants are challenged to join in the fundraising effort for Baptist Children’s Homes by seeking pledges for miles ridden or straight donations totaling $100 or more. Estimated distance for the Ride to Clyde is 460 miles. 

Day Riders Rate

Riders interested in joining the Ride to Clyde for a single day will have a registration fee of $50 dollars. Day riders are also challenged to raise/donate funds for Baptist Children’s Homes, but an amount is not specified. There is no fee for joining only the Saturday day ride, but riders are still required to register.

Note: To register by phone, call 800-395-5102 ext. 5501. Mail checks payable to the BSCNC with “Ride to Clyde” in the memo. We will not accept payment of fees by credit card over the phone.

Wednesday, May 9
Dinner on your own as you travel to Oak Island.
Riders gather at NC Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell

7:00 pm Rider’s meeting
8:00 pm Road Captains meeting

Donations may be made online or by check. Donors and sponsors may make online donations for riders through Baptist Children's Homes of NC at www.bchnc.org/give-ridetoclyde. Donations by check may be made payable to Baptist Children's Homes and submitted at any time by mailing them to BCH, Attention Blake Ragsdale, PO Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361 and include the rider's name and "Ride to Clyde 2018" on the check. Checks may also be brought to registration.

Linens are included at all conference centers. Caraway does not provide shampoo in the rooms.

Thursday, May 10
Breakfast at Fort Caswell – (included in registration fee)
Riders leave Oak Island and travel to Aberdeen, NC to visit Camp Duncan for Girls (BCH facility). 
Noon - Camp Duncan for Girls - lunch included
2:00 pm - Riders will leave Aberdeen, riding through the Uwharrie Mountains and spend the night at Caraway Conference Center near Asheboro.
5:30 pm - Supper at Caraway in Asheboro (included in registration fee)
7:00 pm - Riders will hear from Dr. Michael Blackwell, president of Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina and be introduced to BCH Developmental Disabilities Ministry (DDM). 

 

Friday, May 11
Breakfast at Caraway Conference Center (included in registration fee)
8:45 am - Kickstands Up!
9:30 am - Mills Home Campus of BCH in Thomasville
10:15 am - Riders will begin their travel westward and enjoy lunch on their own along the way.
This year's route will take us to Fruitland Baptist Bible College for a rest stop. Fruitland is owned and operated by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
5:00 pm - Riders arrive at Lake Junaluska Conference Center.
6:30 pm - Supper and program at Lake Junaluska (included in registration fee).  Following supper riders will enjoy a brief program including games and door prizes. A grand prize will be given to the rider that raises/donates the largest amount for Baptist Children’s Homes.

Saturday, May 12
7:15 am - Breakfast at Lake Junaluska (included in registration fee)
8:30 am - Kickstands Up!
Riders will have the option of a couple of different routes they may enjoy prior to arrival at Broyhill Children's Home in Clyde, NC. More information to follow.
11:00 am - Broyhill Children’s Home in Clyde, NC
This is the day of the annual Broyhill BBQ Festival at Broyhill Home so riders will enjoy interacting with children residing at Broyhill Home as well as more than 1,500 other BCH supporters from across western North Carolina who will travel to Clyde for fun, food and other activities.  Included in the Broyhill BBQ activities are a car/truck/motorcycle show, 3D bow shoot, live gospel music performances, and delicious western NC BBQ for purchase.
11:30 am - Presentation of charity ride check to Dr. Michael Blackwell, president of Baptist Children’s Homes of NC
