The Church Planting and Missions Development Group (CPMD) is comprised of five ministry teams – Associational Partnerships, Church Planting, Embrace Women’s Ministry, Missions Development, Partnership Missions and one auxiliary, the North Carolina Baptist Men. The vision statement, guiding the work of the CPMD Group, reads, “Under God’s leadership, and in partnership with other evangelicals, we will evangelize and congregationalize North Carolina and the world for Jesus." An understanding of the vision statement is key to understanding the direction, focus and work of the Church Planting and Missions Development Group.

 “under God’s leadership…” – Everything we do, we do only in response to God’s leadership. He sets the agenda, He gives the orders and we follow His lead.

“…and in partnership with other evangelicals…” – We must realize that our task is so great we cannot accomplish it alone. We must work with like-minded believers who are passionate about sharing Christ and reaching the world for Jesus.

“…we will evangelize and congregationalize…” – Reaching the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ is our first step, quickly followed by our second step, leading the new believer to unite with the body of Christ, expressed through the local church, for discipleship and growth. We are convinced that the local church is the very best environment for a new believer to develop into a mature, fully-devoted follower of Christ.

“…North Carolina and the world…” – While North Carolina is our home and a focus of our ministry we must not stop at the state line. The world must be our mission field. To aim for anything less than global evangelization is to be disobedient to the Great Commission.

“…for Jesus.” – Everything we say, everything we plan and everything we implement we do for Him. Our service is for His glory!
