is a strong message of hope. For too long, we have focused our attention on all the things that are wrong with church, failing to remember that the church is God's instrument to deliver the message of transformation to our communities and the world.
The Transformational Church research project by LifeWay Christian Research has helped us discover many churches across the United States that are true beacons of hope. Thom Rainer and Ed Stetzer note in their book Transformational Church: Creating a New Scorecard for Congregations, that, "A Transformational Church is not simply a 'good church' or a church that does good things. Neither is it necessarily a big church that offers excellent programming, preaching, and worship. A Transformational Church focuses on the gospel's ability to change people."
A Transformational Church is . . .
- People becoming more like Christ
- Churches acting more like the body of Christ
- Communities reflecting the Kingdom of God
Because of our focus on strengthening existing churches, we have adopted the Transformational Church Assessment Tool as a part of our strategy to see the bar raised on disciple-making among North Carolina Baptists. Our cadre of trained consultants is available to enter into a relationship with your church to help you create a transformation process that will help people take the next step in discipleship. This consultation process is available at no charge to cooperating North Carolina Baptist churches because of your Cooperative Program support.
