Senior Adult Choir Festival

Benjamin (Benji) Harlan has agreed to be our clinicians for the 2016 NC Baptist Senior Adult Choir Festival, October 10-11, 2016. Please mark your calendars now and make plans to attend. The list of anthems for you to order for your choir for the festival should be available by late March, 2016 at the bottom of this page under Downloads.This festival will include fellowship, food, fun and plenty of other senior singers who love to make a joyful noise. Any maturing and/or senior adult choir member is invited to participate.

The festival ends with a final worship concert on Tuesday that begins at 11:20. Anyone is welcome to attend the concert and listen for free. Invite your friends to come!

Registration will open late March, 2016. You will be able to register online by clicking the registration button above and choose to pay by either credit card or to mail a check. If you have trouble with the online form, please contact Sherry Thompson by phone at one of the numbers listed at the bottom of this page, and she will walk through the online form with you.

Making a return this year is the opportunity to have your choir sing a selection for other choirs during the festival. Consider having your choir sing for the festival when registering. Groups can sing Monday evening or Tuesday morning.

Lodging: There are two choices for you. The Holiday Inn Express is located at 110 Miller Street SW, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, three long blocks from the church. Hotel phone 336-721-0220. The group rate is $89.99 plus tax which includes a hot breakfast. Also available is the Best Western Plus - Hanes Mall for $85 plus tax. Their phone number is 336-893-7540. They are located on Silas Creek Parkway, across from Forsyth Hospital.

Monday meal: There will be a dinner at the church on that Monday night. The cost of the catered meal at the church will be announced at a later date and will include beverage, one meat, two veggies, salad, and dessert. Also the church will provide some bottled waters and snacks at the Monday afternoon break time. Starting on September 12, 2016, we will ask you to let us know how many people you would like to purchase the meals for, and your church will buy them from our office at the Convention, and we will pay Ardmore Baptist one check.The deadline to order and pay for your meals will be October 3. Payment can be either by check or credit card. There will be no refunds for no-shows.

Location: The festival will be held at Ardmore Baptist Church at 501 Miller Street in Winston-Salem. The church has a wonderful worship / rehearsal space, and they have a superb organ and concert grand piano. The acoustics will be GREAT!

Music: Please purchase festival anthems (one of each title for each choir member) and learn the music thoroughly before attending the festival. The list will be available below in late March, 2016 as a a file you can download and print. 

Special Deal: Bring your senior adult choir to the 2016 festival for free

  • Bring your choir of 7 or more singers and pay the full registration fee of $250/$300
  • Recruit one or more senior adult choirs of 7 or more that have not attended in the last three years
  • After the festival is completed, you will receive a rebate check amounting to $100 for the first choir you recruited and $50 for each additional choir, not to exceed your entire registration fee.

What you need to do:

  • Register your church choir for the festival and pay the appropriate fees 
  • Recruit additional senior adult choir(s)
  • Notify Sherry Thompson of the choir(s) you have recruited
  • Those choirs will register with us and pay their fees

Please note that if this offer is more successful than we expect, we may have to limit the offer once we reach a certain threshold; we will update this page and notify choir directors who have attended in the past if that happens. Also, please be aware that there can be only one rebate paid out per recruited choir (two churches cannot claim the same recruited choir.)

Our hope is that this will be a great incentive for you to recruit new choirs, helping your music budget along the way. We feel that the new choirs will have a great experience and will desire to participate in subsequent years.


  • $250 per BSCNC affiliated church, with choir of 7 or more people
  • $300 per non-affiliated group
  • $40 each individual with choir of 6 or less
