David Moore is senior consultant and coach, facilitating resources and ministries for North Carolina Baptist pastors and other church staff, individuals, teams, groups and congregations. For about 35 years he has collaborated with others in spiritual journeys of self-discovery and realization, believing that churches, like individuals, are always striving to hear and respond to the movement of the Spirit of God, and have the capacity to apprehend and join that movement.
David has worked alongside various groups – as campus minister with college students; resource consultant with older adults, single adults, pastors and staff; and human resource director for a secular business. In all these endeavors, David has delighted in assisting churches, associations and individuals in self-discovery and affirming their abilities to discern what a faithful Christian walk looks like.
A native of Durham, David received his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and master of divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
David has enjoyed additional opportunities for learning, development and certification, and those opportunities include: human relations training with the Mid-Atlantic Center for Training and Consultation; church consultation education through the Center for Congregational Health; certifications with the National Career Development Project (What Color Is Your Parachute?), Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Success Style Profile Programs (SSP); and Strengths Finders. He has also successfully completed training in Co-Active coaching through the Coaches Training Institute, and received certification for facilitating LifeWay’s Transformational Church.
David is married to Carol and they have five children and three grandchildren. His interests include mountain hiking, biking, camping, community theater, cooking, lawn and gardening interests, and all things musical.
