Convention Officers
During the annual meeting of the Convention, the messengers elect a president, first vice president and second vice president to serve a one year term. The officers may be elected for two consecutive terms. The president presides over the deliberations of the Convention and has responsibility of other duties as directed by the Convention. Other responsibilities of the president and vice presidents include serving as a nominating committee bringing recommendations for members of the Committee on Nominations to the Board for their election at its January meeting. The president and vice presidents also serve as ex-officio voting members of all Convention Committees and of the Board and its Executive Committee.  The Convention officers serve as ex-officio non-voting members of all subcommittees of the Convention Committees and all committees and subcommittees of the Board.

Ed Yount, BSCNC President
Ed Yount has pastored Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover since 1993. Yount served as BSCNC First Vice President in 2009. He chaired the Giving Plans Study Committee and has served in other areas of denominational leadership as a member of the BSCNC Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, member of the Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute Board of Directors, moderator of Catawba Valley Baptist Association and trustee of the International Mission Board. All three churches where Yount previously pastored are in the top 100 churches for Cooperative Program giving in North Carolina. Yount earned a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Mark Harris, BSCNC First Vice President
Mark Harris is pastor of First Baptist Church in Charlotte. Harris, who delivered the Convention sermon in 2007, has pastored First Baptist since 2005. Harris also pastored Center Grove Baptist Church in Clemmons for 11 years and Curtis Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga., for six years. He has served our Convention in previous positions as Second Vice President and chair of the Sanderson Motion Committee.  Harris holds degrees from Appalachian State University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is completing his term as a member of the board of trustees for Southeastern Seminary where he has also served as chairman.

CJ Bordeaux, BSCNC Second Vice President
CJ Bordeaux serves as senior pastor of Gorman Baptist Church, Durham, where he has been since 2008. North Carolina churches he served previously include West Monroe, Antioch, Village and White Lake. Bordeaux has served our Convention as chairman of the Committee on Committees, a member of the Board of Directors, and more recently on the Giving Plans Study Committee. Other areas of denominational leadership include service on the SBC Credentials Committee and the Executive Committee where he served as an officer for three years. Bordeaux received his undergraduate degree from Campbell University and his Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry from Bethany Theological Seminary.

Board Officers
At the January meeting of the Board of Directors, the president and vice president are elected by a majority vote of the Board. The president presides over all meetings of the Board and takes action as directed by the Board. The president and vice president also have responsibility of selecting committee members as set forth in the bylaws.  They serve as ex-officio voting members of all committees and sub-committees of the Board. The president and vice president also serve as chair and vice chair of the Executive Committee of the Board.

Bobby Blanton, Board President
Bobby Blanton has served as senior pastor of Lake Norman Baptist Church in Huntersville for 13 years, seeing the church grow from 250 to 1,400 members. Blanton has served two terms on the Board of Directors and was elected in January as president. He also serves as chairman of the Executive Committee.  As a pastor for over 30 years, Blanton has served four other churches, three of which are in North Carolina. He has served the Convention on the Executive Director-Treasurer Search Committee, Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute (FBBI) Board, FBBI President Search Committee, Budget Committee, Committee on Nominations and the Articles and Bylaws Committee. Blanton holds degrees from Gardner-Webb University, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Drew University Theological School.

Cindi Stevens, Board Vice President
As a member of the BSCNC Board of Directors, Cindi Stevens is serving her third year as vice president of the Board of Directors and vice chairperson of the Executive Committee. She has also served on the Embrace Women's Ministry Task Force and is currently serving on the SBC Committee on Committees. She is the wife of Clay Stevens, lead pastor of Cross Culture Church in Raleigh, NC. Stevens' other ministries include coordinating women's ministries, mentoring, singing and public speaking.
