Quality Christian college men and women are needed to serve each summer at Camp Caraway near Asheboro, N.C. Camp Caraway summer programs are in partnership with NC Baptists on Mission/ NC Baptist Men and is a residential summer camp ministry. We offer 5 unique summer programs for children. We use fun to share the love of Jesus, develop healthy relationships, create lasting teachable moments, and teach about the importance of missions. The 5 programs are week long boy’s camp, week long children's camp, father-son camps, father-daughter camp, and mother-son camp.
Summer camp activities and recreation may include: worship, missions times, skits, swimming in the lake and pool, water slide, water trampoline, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, Key log rolling, fishing, archery, air rifles, zip lines, high and low ropes challenge courses, group games, skill classes, overnight camp outs, cook outs, and more.
College-age camp counselors must have completed at least one year in college and must show Christian maturity in their everyday life. Depending on the program, some camp counselors will serve in different capacities as needed such as: leading children through daily camp activities, recreation facilitators, life guards, and support staff.
Counselor in Training
A Counselor in Training (CIT) is a mature high school age male at least age 17. A CIT will serve in many support roles such as operating canteen, working in kitchen, maintenance or beautification projects, and assist college counselors with the daily program as needed. CIT's will learn from more experienced staff about camp life, preparing a devotion, sharing their testimony, and other leadership skills.
Support Staff Positions
Other summer staff support positions include assistant director, senior counselor leadership, worship leadership, videographer/photographer, and administrative assistant. These positions require significant previous skill and experience in their specific area.
Summer staff are paid a competitive salary and receive free lodging, most meals, and free staff clothing.
